Full Time Direct Support Person (DSP)

Full-time position. Hours: 7:30-3:30

Qualifying Questions:

  • Have you completed the following level of education: High school or equivalent?
  • Are you willing to undergo a background check, in accordance with local law/regulations?
  • Would you be willing to drive a bus from Freeport to Lanark?

Job Description:

  • Provide training and guidance for individuals in the areas of vocational and academic skills, personal hygiene, socialization, and recreational activities.
  • Implement active treatment programs and document individual’s progress.
  • Reports and/or documents routine and unusual events including completing daily logs, accident reports, outcome data sheets, etc. in a concise, understandable, and legible manner.
  • Assist individuals in completing daily job tasks as well as teaching new job skills.
  • Ensure individuals are following safety protocols.
  • Perform other duties as requested by Supervisor.

Qualifications for DSP:

  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Maintains a valid driver’s license.
  • Demonstrates functional reading and writing skills.
  • Completes DSP training in accordance with state regulations.
  • Maintain acceptable status under the Healthcare Workers’ Background Check Act.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move, push and/or pull up to 20 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear and smell. The employee is required to move frequently and occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, balance, or crawl.

The employee must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents in emergency situations. The employee must possess emotional stability to deal with stressful situations on a regular basis.

1st shift Model Worker

Part-time position. Hours: 8 a.m. - 3 p.m., Monday through Friday. Applicants must be able to pass a Health Care Worker background check.

Job Description:

  • Check work orders to determine type and quantity of materials needed for each production batch.
  • Assemble goods on conveyor belts and report any faults to the supervisor on an immediate basis.
  • Monitor processes to ensure that they are run properly and ensure that basic quality control and quality assurance tests are performed.
  • Inspect finished products to ensure that they conform to quality standards and isolate any non-conformed or damaged items.
  • Communicate problems with machinery, raw and end products to the supervisor.

Wage: $13/hour
